I always read the chapter before, to remember what happened. Kyros...such a mean bastard, wanting Jim like that. He belongs to Spock...Spock being on the hunt for his bondmate was well done. I am not surprised he is acting in this way, the frustration of not finding Jim is overwhelming him, What will happen when he does find Jim..will he lose it completely, Thanks for the update...

Thanks for your review Denise. Yes, Spock is not himself on searching for Jim but there is something deeper going on here. It will all tie in eventually.

you're back! yaye! liked the chapter, very dramatic. that tile thing was so out there I was surprised Spock didn't test it to see if it opened a secret passageway or something. It was really bothering me!

This was great my friend...Love how you describe the crystals. Jim had a eerie feeling that this guy was trouble, and he was right. I look forward to seeing what will happen...hopefully Spock will save him.

Oh, this was so well written. What I love about your stories is that you dig deep in what we know of Vulcans, which isn't a whole lot. But, you manage to make us think..more specifically the bonding ceremony. That getting interrupted here and there when they desperately need each other is a no no. All the mystery of telepathy is such an intriguing topic to discuss. You again manage to make us stop and think, now imagine if they always had this power....and have emotions..violent emotions mixed in, when things don't go their way. What a horrendous thought. The power the could unleash, just by thinking..I don't like you....because...what..you made a pass at my husband...he gave you the evil eye. Thank the heavens for Surak's vision of what could happen, and that he had other people follow him. Very scared for Spock at this moment. Now, I inderstand why he went to Gol...something real real bad is about to happen, and the thing feared most from Vulcans is the lost of control. He is about to experience it, now.... Excellent chapter Kelli.

Thank you sweetie. Yes, I never really read into anything which went into Vulcan telepathy, either in fanfiction or in official books. It opens a lot of doors of speculation. As for Spock going to Gol, I think the readers have it figured out that's what is going to happen, so I'm not spoiling anything by saying yes he will be going there. But as you will find out later in the story, the reason why he goes...well lets just say that all is not what it seems.

I haven't given up on this...I just got really side tracked with personal things. Mostly working while going to school to complete my degree, which I just completed. So I will be working on this and my other neglected WIP soon. Thanks for reviewing.

Wonderful depiction of the intimacy Jim and Spock had before the events of the story. The trust and affection between them was such a nice contrast from the heartache and cconfusion of the main storyline. I am interested to see how the flashback will tie in with the rest of the fic...I don't have a hot clue where you're going wiith it, but you're awesome, so I know it's gonna be great. You are doing a fabulous job with this story.

You know how I loved this story....the sexual tension...the desperate need ...and finally release...in every sense of the word....I love the humor in this story....it's fun..now..for something serious..I have the feeling that something is going to happen to Spock quite soon...as he is heading back to his room...hopefully Jim will here Spock through their link...I think Kyros is extremely jealous...something is going to happen...and it isn't good...not following curfew....hmmmm remember when Wesley on the Next Generation crashed in garden of petunias...or something...and you weren't supposed to go near it...he got the death penalty thrown at him... ...be careful Spock.....

Well the curfew isn't exactly a law. It's just something that's been set in place for the safety of the crew. (It's sort of based on an event which occured several years ago with my father-in-law. He had to travel to Mexico City for several business trips over two years. He couldn't leave the hotel unless he was escorted, and was told never to go out on his own. As an American, he risked being kidnapped in that area from drug gangs.)
You are right that something is going to happen though involving Kyros...but that's all I'm telling :P ;)

That is a really sweet scene. Am I a bad person that I enjoy the budding friendship of Picard and Spock. McCoy is dealt with pretty well. He is not to grumpy which is more of a caricture, but not just a spirk cheerleader or comic homophobe and I can't wait for the old skool to show there stuff.
Only McCoy would think that something as amazing as being preserved for 80 years and saving 1000 souls on the Enterprise is boooooring. Fish story.

I think there are some similarities between Picard and Captain Pike, who Spock served under for something like 15 years. I think that if Pike hadn't been hurt by that radiation and winding up in a chair, he would have aged into a captain like Picard. So I can see these two easily getting along with one another. Now as for McCoy, it's not so much that he thinks Scotty's story is boring, it's just that he's likely heard it a dozen times over, and I can see Scotty 'embelishing' it with a few more details each time he tells it to friends. (i.e. a fish story where the fish gets a little bigger or the fight to reel it in gets longer with each retelling...lol). Thanks for your review!

Wow, as usually you have me really intrigued here. You are reminding me a lot of the old Pocket novels. Those were really my first introduction to Star Trek (original series). I read dozens of them at a time when I'd only seen a few episodes.
When I finally went back a decade later and started to watch the whole series properly I was really confused because I had thought that Kirk and Spock communicating via a telepathic link was canon. (Now I know to thank the novelization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Roddenberry, I agree, probably didn't do all the writing chores on the novel--it was probably one of his wives! Every change he made from the movie has his fingerprints all over it. His opinions used to be canon... but no more.)

Thank you very much. Sorry, but I made an error in my last comment to you when I tried to explain your other comment. I meant that Kirk's amnesia is not going to affect Spock going into pon farr or not.
As for Roddenberry, Star Trek became bigger than his vision, and once Paramount brought in others, he seemed to get pushed to the side in the creative process. He was a man ahead of his time.
