Great story, intense and with top on characterization. I loved the remark about the position of the viewer at the science station... :D I think the problem of the emotional difficulty that Jim's position puts him in in the relationship between the two is often completely disregareded in K/S fics, you did a great job in pointing it out and illustrating the suffering and the resolution.
