Well, that's easily one of the funniest stories I have read on this Archive! And it is so without being silly or unkind to the characters. At a certain point I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. (It was Giotto being unable to understand Carlo because he is Calabrese and what follows) I hope for all of them that they got their pizzas in the end. Hilarious, thank you so much for posting.

Well, this is still what I would name a close call ... ;-)
(Maybe I should elaborate: Some of my folks (the so called Bucharian/Sefardi part of the Jewish people) serve bulls' testicles for barbecue - not that I would partake of that "delicacy" without being forced ... So you can guess what that idea did to me ... *shudder*)
Glad that everything worked out well, and I guess Jim will tease Spock with that for a very long time ... :-)))

Author's Response:

So I had to go look up if bull's testicles are kosher. Oy! I did try to avoid the final squikkiness--but yeah, the thought is there (suspence!).... XD

I laughed out loud when Kirk said 'Is oregano psychotropic?' and when McCoy shouted 'chenesi' I actually screamed in shock!  I was so stunned...  This is excellent - such a random and original idea, well done...

Author's Response:

Lol, I've lived in Italy for many years now--and those darned chenesi in all their different spellings have been pestering me since I first read the term, which sounds so much like the Italian plural noun or adjective for "Chinese".

I haven't laughed so hard in months! I'm Italian, half Calabrese. Once, when I was a shop-assistant, I had a customer -an Australian woman of Italian origin- with which I talked in English while she answered me in Calabrese! It was hilarious! Great job!

Author's Response:

Thank you! I chose Calabrese because it really does sound difficult--especially the more dialectical it gets!

Oh my!!!! My chenesi almost landed on a pizza!!! That mental image! *faint*
Oyboh, this was a hilarious and crack!tastic and absolutely charming read! So many great moments! Thanks a lot. And thanks also for helping me keep my diet - I am not going to indulge in pizza for several weeks now ;-)

Author's Response:

Well, I did manage to avoid having them being actually used in the kitchen--and I would have hated to have had them cut up! I'm sure Spock will give you a slice of his veggie pizza, though.
