Oh, not what I was expecting! This is a good twist - we should all remember to give Pike the respect he deserves for setting te precedent.
Images do convey so much...they tell a story...so a combination, of words and imagery makes it even more heartfelt. Pike was more of a father figure I think...the father that Spock never truly had....Thanks so much for reading

I like this little twist that it was Pike that broke down Spock's wall making it possible to Kirk to come into Spock's life later on.
I had always wondered what Spock's relationship with Pike was like. If it was strictly professional or if they had friendship? I do know that Spock had a great deal of respect of Pike and cared for him on some level. All the trouble he went though during "The Menagerie" you could tell there was something there, but exactly what was left up to the audience I feel.
I so agree Ivy. Such a long time under his command, surely some kind of friendship between them must have transpired...a good example is The Menagerie episode...he would do anything for his former captain. Because of that first friendship, he was more open to accept another...so I do think Pike had a big influence...thanks for reading
