Lovely tale in its bare language, like a sketch of a beginning of a long saga. Ever thought about it?

Author's Response:

I've thought of expanding it, and started to. However, other projects have my attention right now.

Thank you so much! :D

Great story -  I agree that it has the feeling of a fairy tale - I think that might be because of your spare writing style, which I really enjoyed.

I am curious though about how - in joining the Enterprise & bonding with Kirk - Spock managed to resolve his fears regarding repercussions for Sarek.

Author's Response:

Thank you! I was feeling especially spare today, lol. I finally had a day to just sit down and write, but only today. I also wrote most of the next chapter of "Command", just have to write the ending. Maybe tomorrow.

With the Sarek thing, I figured that Vulcans hold bondmates above all other responsibilities, so they would understand and honor Spock's desire to stay with his. Gay Vulcans are fairly common among the warrior class, so a lot of the Eridani crew were bondmates. (or unbonded, in Soval's case) At least, that was the backstory in my head. lol. Really, this story should have been a lot longer, and maybe even have brought Sarek himself into it. Didn't have time to write a novel though so I finished it off quicklike. Thanks again! :)

I enjoyed this story.  To me there is something about it that is a kind of old-fashioned romanticism.  It seem to have the flavor of a fairy tale!  Thank you very much for sharing.

Author's Response:

Thank you! You know, you're right. I did have a kind of Beauty and the Beast thing going in my head, though the parallel was quite loose, obviously. :) Glad you enjoyed!
