What to say? I've been reading K/S for about 15 years -- their love was obvious to me even at the tender age of 14. I have a weakness for Captain Kirk's green wrap tunic, which is so sexy that it should be illegal (and thankfully, isn't). I will be eternally grateful to William Shatner for being secure enough in his masculinity to flaunt that tunic onscreen.

I've just made my first foray in to fanfic in over 8 years - and my first foray into writing K/S, period. I hope that you enjoy my humble efforts. :)

Challenges by SoldierGirl
Summary: Wall sex is Jim's favorite kind, especially when the wall is the bulkhead of the Enterprise. He loves to feel the coolness of his ship on one side and the heat of his lover on the other. Spock is happy to oblige him. Bonus points if the first time they have wall sex is because Jim was wearing the green wrap tunic and Spock found it unbelievably enticing. (Kill two challenges with one fic, LOL - for those who haven't seen it and want more info, the other challenge is the "Wrap Tunic Challenge!")

Summary:

Most people have a personal bubble that dictates how close they allow someone to be to them physically. The closer you allow someone to get, the more safe, secure, and comfortable you feel with them.

I would love to see a ficlet or drabble, anything, where Jim, Spock, or other characters notice the lack of "personal space" between Kirk and Spock. As in, it's practically nonexistent. Maybe it could lead up to a spicy little encounter?

BONUS POINTS: If you can make it a 5-and-1 ficlet, from the POV of either Spock or Jim. Inspired by a K/S motivational poster I saw once.

Summary:

We all love that green, v-neck wrap tunic (with rank on the sleeves, not shoulders) that only Jim Kirk can make look butch. Admit it. You love that tunic. You watch episodes of original Trek just for that tunic, and secretly hope that they recreate it in the next film, if only for a moment. But who else loves Jim wearing that tunic?

This is shameless worship of the wrap tunic. You can make it a 5-and-1, poem, drabble, whatever. I just wanna know the myriad ways that Jim makes that tunic look GOOD, and who amongst the crew agrees.

Extra points if someone notes that Kirk is the only captain who wears this variation on the standard uniform tunic and wonders why. More points if another person can answer why.

A million points if you can make Jim hesitant to wear it at first but completely sold on it when the sheer SEXY of it drives a certain Vulcan science officer to distraction.

Summary:

Jim and Spock get caught in a compromising situation. Can be by anyone, anywhere, but let's try to give poor Bones a break and let someone else catch them in the act, okay?

Summary:

Jim and Spock are trying to consummate their relationship, but keep getting interrupted. What lengths will they go to in order to relieve their mutual sexual frustration?

Annnnd... go!

Summary:

Captain Kirk is in one heck of a bad mood. The crew enlists Spock's aid to resolve the situation. After all, when Dad's not happy, nobody is happy.

Vaguely inspired by seeing my 1SG pissed off one day while I was in Afghanistan. (It's bad enough when the CO is pissed, but when Top is mad? It's a disturbance in the force and NOBODY is happy.)

Summary: Kirk and Spock have a hot sex life, but it's never hotter than when they're angry with each other. They can be mad at each other for any reason you like, but there's got to be some smokin' tearing-off-of-clothes sexin'.

Summary: Overly-mushy pet names annoy me, especially in K/S. It seems out of character for our boys to constantly call each other "my love", "beloved", etc, in everyday circumstances. I'd like to see a fic where the way Jim says Spock's name (or vice versa) makes it a term of endearment. Bonus points if some else clues into this before our boys do. Extra bonus points if our boys aren't romantically involved but become so as a result of realising the reason for that "special something" in the way they say each other's names.

Summary: Jim and Spock can't bond. Spock is forced to take a wife out of necessity, whom he will see only during pon farr, when he will be forcibly drawn to her. It can be T'Pring if your heart is set on her, but I'd like it to be someone completely new (original character, perhaps?). How does Jim react when Spock goes to her for the first time, even though he knows Spock is his the rest of the time? How does Spock react afterward? I don't want them to be so much at odds with each other, but with the biological and mental demands that force an otherwise-unwilling Spock into someone else's arms. I'd like this to have a happy ending. (And preferably no babies.)

Summary: Turbolift scene with Uhura in nu!Trek. What if it were Jim instead? Can be same scene, or could be original Trek (perhaps "Journey to Babel" or, even better, "And The Children Shall Lead"!). Whenever or wherever it happens, Jim makes Spock forget himself. Desperation a bonus. : )

Summary:

Nu!Trek universe. Our resident whiz kid Chekov develops a geeky crush on Spock. He goes to Jim for advice, unaware that his captain also has feelings for the Vulcan. What happens next? I'd like a happy ending for Jim and Spock, and Chekov to somehow come to realize Sulu's charms.

Summary: What if Bones had treated Spock with drugs that seemed to make him go back to normal and the Enterprise had gone on to Altair VI instead of diverting to Vulcan? What happens as a result? This is an alternate retelling of "Amok Time" that I've yet to see.

Summary: Spock had no sexual urges until pon farr, and he was never attracted to anyone. After pon farr, he begins to see Jim in a way he never has before. Jim has always been attracted to Spock, but never considered acting on it because Spock showed no signs of reciprocating. He finds out (and how is up to you, dear author) that Spock is now capable of desire and wants Jim. What do they do now?

Summary: Abrams-verse AU. What if George Kirk had escaped the Kelvin with his wife and son? What if the person who piloted the ship in its last moments was a Vulcan officer named Sarek? What effect would this have on the lives of Jim Kirk and Spock? (I'd like to think that Spock would have tapped a bit more into the rebellious streak we glimpsed in the "Live long and prosper/ F. YOU." moment.)

Summary:

Browsing for the ST:TNG book "Imzadi" for Kindle last night, I wondered: What would happen if the basic plot of "Imzadi" was brought to original Trek verse and made a K/S story? (For those who don't know, an alternate universe Riker is old and bitter and commanding a backwater space station decades after Deanna Troi was killed on the Enterprise. Losing Troi was what made him that way.)

So, here's the challenge, a la "Imzadi": Spock is killed/dies sometime during the first 5-year mission(can happen any way you choose -- KIA, disease, pon farr, transporter mishap, telepathic attack, taken hostage and killed, etc). Of course, he dies after his relationship with Jim is in full bloom. What happens to Jim as a result?

My friend Amber is convinced that original Kirk would become a sort of Ahab, in her words, "loss of confidence at first, then a rebound where he throws himself into insane missions. He'd wind up dead in short order." Kirk has, of course, lost crewmen (and women) before, but he'd always had Spock there to confide in and reassure him that he'd done the right thing. I think it would be more traumatic if Spock died in a situation that Jim was forced to order him into.

Additional requirements:

Spock can NOT, under any circumstances, return from the dead. Not as an alternate universe counterpart, not via fal tor pan, nothing. He's dead and not coming back.

Must be original universe. For all his past troubles, original Kirk is (for lack of a better term) softer than nu Kirk, largely due to being secure in who he is and where he belongs (thanks to Spock) and to helping Spock become more accepting of his human emotions. He has Spock in his very DNA to an extent that nu Kirk hasn't had the time to develop yet.

This is angst galore, but I would be forever grateful if one of you talent authors were willing to take it on.

Summary: A K/S retelling of "The Little Mermaid". Spock is a prince of the Mer Kingdom, and Jim is the human he falls for from a distance. No sad ending, please, and I'd honestly like this not to be too cracky. I have no excuse for this except that my mind comes up with funny things in the wee hours of the morning.

Summary: Five times Jim and Spock shared a bed, and one time it led to something more. If you can manage to include a substantial scene from "City On The Edge Of Forever", I'd love you forever. There were only two beds in that room, and one contained Spock's (delicate and immobile) computer project. ; )

Summary: Spock doesn't understand the meaning of the Standard word "bromance". Jim explains it to him.

Summary: Reboot-verse Kirk and crew meet Khan. (Despite the goofy title of this challenge, I don't want it to be crack fic.) Inspired by Lah_Mrh's excellent fic "Hearts and Minds", where a Generations-verse Kirk (rescued from the Nexus and reunited with the elderly Spock in the reboot-verse) tells reboot-verse Kirk to lock Khan up and throw away the key if he meets him. If you haven't read that fic, I highly recommend it.
