Bio:

I’ve been a fan of Star Trek TOS and Kirk and Spock since I was a kid in the 70’s, even then gravitating toward the more H/C episodes!  I eventually found out about K/S and went aha! And have enjoyed being in the fandom to one degree or another ever since.

I did not start writing K/S until the summer of  2013 - even though it was my first ever 'slash' obsession.  Perhaps it was a bit too daunting.

Through the years I discovered and enjoyed other fandoms like The Sentinel, Due South and Torchwood.

I wrote a long series of connected stories in the Due South fandom, featuring Benny and “the real” Ray.  If you are interested, those stories can be found at the address below.  I don't think you need to be familar with Due South to enjoy.

Your work stands the test of time and is no less powerful than it ever was.

For me, your writing is the gold standard.

Just wanted to say thanks.

I wish there were more stories like this.

What a great idea to show the POV of other Vulcans serving onboard a 'mixed' starship.  It is fascinating to see how they each interact (or don't interact) with humans; they cling together as one group and hardly venture outside of it - a self-imposed segregation.  These Vulcans may as well be on the Intrepid or some other all-Vulcan ship.  How brave of Steyvill to be the one who branches out and seeks humans and embraces that part of life.

And so nice to see Spock, secured and loved by his Jim, and so full of compassion and understanding for a being so lonely and isolated. He understands her envy and empathizes to the point of helping her even though she didn't know she NEEDED help.

Kudos.  This story is a perfect 10 in my book.

This is the type of writing I like to read.  Beautiful.  I always love seeing Spock and Kirk through someone else's eyes.  I enjoyed getting the pov of the reporter - someone who has never met him but has heard of him - and seeing just how intimidating Spock truly can be to the uninitiated.  I like that the stubborness and intellectual power show through.

Bravo.

What a wonderful story!  The argument and cultural misunderstand (and as part of that, the personal misunderstanding) between Kirk and Spock was very believable.  It's so easy to step of each others' toes sometimes, without meaning to hurt - but it does. Kirk saying "I think you're being willfully ignorant" rang very true.  I like that they worked out a compromise to that, even though it wasn't an ideal one - the most important thing is that they were trying to make it work.

And I liked the fact that they got married "in city hall" if you will.  Simple and pragmatic - it suits them.

Well done, and kudos.

D.
