I'm almost old, Italian, and I lurk a lot to find well written/kinky/humorous fics to translate in my own language. I try to avoid fluff (I want porn!), but sometimes it is inevitable. I also try to avoid long fics and I don't translate WIP (but I never say never). And… ok, I'm obsessive about translating every word/expression/phrase (or, at least, adapting them when they suck in Italian). If the author used them, it's 'cause the author wanted them, right? Anyway, just so you know about my modus operandi: • I'll always ask your permission first (and give you the names of other authoresses of 'mine' -if you want to check me out-); • if you don't answer me, I'll ask again (so, if you don't want a translation, you'd better tell me 'NO' strightaway); •"good translation" is better than "fast translation", so it'll take me ages. I'm slow and I don't have much time. But sooner or later I'll finish it; • I have a wonder!beta (she's obsessive, too); • I'll inform you when the story is published (and where -with links-); • I'll translate all the comments received and send them back to you (but if you don't care much about them let me know, 'cause translating from Italian to English is harder); • if you need the translations for your own archive (or site/LJ/etc. -just tell me where you put them-), I'll send you the translations' files; • sooner or later, the translations of your fics will end up also on my LiveJournal, which is for Friends of Age only. After reading a few prompts about Spock leaving Kirk after a 'misunderstanding,' I decided to try my hand in it.
After being wrongly accused, Jim's life is thrown off course. He returns to Iowa to drink away not only his guilt but also the memory of a situation that he had no control over. When the painful truth is revealed, can the Enterprise get her Captain back before it's too late? Or is he lost to them forever?

I agree with all the others. You need a beta that knows her job, 'cause even the so-called 'betaed chapters' are full of mistakes (orthography, commas and so on). The only excuse you could possibly have is that English is not your native language. And it's a pity, because the story is not bad.
I just read a Valentine's Day story where Spock Prime was alone. I felt so lousy about it that I had to crank this out.
I know how you feel, I read that fic too and it crushed me, so I owe you a big thank you. I needed this fic ^_^

I know that the archive's policy is "don't put warnings if you don't want to", but even though I can appreciate angst, I don't read death fics. So clearly I didn't enjoyed your fic. Moreover because I didn't expect the ending. I really prefer to be able to choose if I want to read angst -or whatever- or not.

There is a "caveat lector/choose not to warn" that I put clearly under the warnings, which essentially means 'read at your own risk'. That means there could be a death, or a rape, or something else going on that the author doesn't want to give initially away if they think it will take away from the story's purpose. I'm sorry you didn't like it, and I don't expect everyone to. I was going for the shock of the unexpected twist.
The toughest situations often bring people together.
A little advice: when you state the time (0600-0745)there's no need to specify "Jim" and "Spock" if you start the following sentence with "captain JT Kirk" or "Spock". The POV's already crystal clear.

Since I did a pregnant Spock, it only seems fair that Jim get equal time. This is an answer to KrazieKat2009's Baby Maker challenge, which goes like this:
Summary: Features preggers!Kirk. I would like for Spock to still be in a relationship with Uhura at start of story. And Jim has secretly been in love with his First Officer for the past year. No one knows of his attraction to Spock, not even Bones. (Though he can be suspicious if you want). During a scout out on a once technologically advanced planet, Spock and Kirk stumble across an old, left behind piece of technology. The technology feeds off of emotional energy to create new life; it senses Jim's utmost desires to be with Spock, and so it activates and causes Jim to be impregnated, with Spock as his child's DNA "donor". Neither Jim or Spock are aware that Jim has been impregnated at first, but soon they become aware. Another side effect of the machine is that it causes the pregnant person to become more dependent on the one s/he has feelings for, so Jim's attraction magnifies, and it takes all he can not to let Spock find out. BONUS POINTS: If Spock, at first, wants nothing to do with the baby because he is with Uhura, but his paternal instincts start to kick in and his attraction to Kirk grows intensely. BONUS POINTS: If Uhura turns out to be mature in the end and wants Spock and Kirk to be together.SUPER BONUS POINTS: Spock becomes possessive over pregnant!Kirk, and finds his pregnant Captain sexually tempting, and gets aroused constantly when near Kirk. MEGA SUPER POINTS: There is eventual (lot of) pregnant sex, and Kirk is a "virgin" when it comes to men. TROPE: Bottom!Jim

Oh, right, male physiology… bed rest might be interesting (Jim would go MAD!!! XD). But there are always incubators. If a woman can have a multiple pregnancy (up to NINE babies -that's scary!-) maybe simple twins are not that bad -health wise- even for a man.

Spock has been haunted by dreams he's been having: Dreams of another life. When he's with Uhura, he can't help but think of the dreams, and he's beginning to think that being with her isn't what he is destined to do, and that his true destiny lies with Jim. He's confused; the James T. Kirk he knows is so different from the one he sees in his dreams.
Mwahahahahahahahah! Lovely! (and yes, the devilish laughter is necessary) It's just that I can't stand Abrams' Uhura. She's hot, but also a stuck up bitch, while the original one was all elegance, class and professionalism. Cheers!

Thank you for reviewing. I agree with you, by the way, especially about TOS!Uhura. She was also imperfect in her area - how she failed miserably at translating into Klingon - but I think that was what also made her much more enjoyable as a character. The new one seems very unprofessional, egotistical, way too perfect in her communications abilities, and bossy - which is very different from a well-developed strong (female) character. Academy fic
Kirk gets drunk after failing the Kobayashi Maru for the second time and is somehow roped into helping out with the chess team. Turns out he's helping out the rocking-hot so-off-limits Vulcan professor named Spock. Does Jim have what it takes to win the supposedly un-feeling Vulcan over?
Sadly I agree with zeugmaqueen. The story is good, but Pascha is too much on the Mary Sue side, and it's a pity.
You've called Spock Prime "Solinek" three times in this chapter. Wasn't his pseudonim "Solinar"?

I'd love to read an AU based (loosely!) on The King's Speech (what a wonderful film...)!
It should be set in a universe where non-reform Vulcan is the ruling planet in an empire, and the Emperor is Sarek. Sybok is part of the family, and has just taken the throne of Vulcan (replacing an aunt or uncle, I guess). However, he is an Edward VIII type figure and will give up the throne to Spock, who is the only other heir.
But, problem - Spock is a reject from the family (due to his human heritage and his speech impediment, which is unheard of among full-blood vulcans) and has lived a lonely and anonymous life on Earth for many years. During that time, Kirk has fallen in love with him from a distance, and they are tentatively beginning a relationship. Kirk, of course, does not know who Spock really is.
Eventually, Sybok abdicates and Spock receives the summons. How will the couple cope with the revelation? Will Spock overcome the obstacles in his path? Will a common human be acceptable as consort to the King? Spock has already been going to speech therapy just so he can say 'I love you' to Kirk, but of course it turns out that he will need the skills for a much farther reaching cause.
I want a story with a happy ending, and preferably using the TOS characters. I don't mind what career Kirk has - you decide. Whether or not Amanda is in it is up to you, but if she is, I would think she would be a servant or something rather than the Empress. Extra points if you can make Doctor McCoy a convincing speech therapist!
And away we go.
Sybok and Jim already met in chapters 14 and 15, so why in this chapter seems that Jim has not seen him in the flesh before? Just curious.
