Bio:

So I'm 26, I live in Norway, study literature at the University of Oslo, and am relatively new to Star Trek fanfiction. I'm actually relatively new to slash fiction too. Been semi-active a couple of years now.

I'm not new to fanfiction, however, which I've been writing/reading/editing (beta-reading) since 2004/2005. I think it's an absolutely wonderful concept. However, though I've been active in the community for a long time, I have this problem where I get a million different ideas, usually in quick succession, which means I start many different projects, and never finish any of them (unless we're talking poetry - that I manage to finish).

But! Lo and behold! I've grabbed myself by the short hairs (ouch) and forced myself to stick to one project, and it's actually going very well.

Finding Trinity is the fic I'm currently spending all my fanfiction-related energy on, and I have very high hopes for it. Ten chapters are ready (well, their first drafts are ready - they still need plenty of editing), and there are more to come. I really hope the story will interest some of you.

As all writers do, I appreciate reviews. Any review is welcome. Even if you hate my story, let me know! But I would like it if you told me, not just that it's awful, but why you think it's awful. Constructive criticism, people! It's a wonderful thing.

Anyway, back to Finding Trinity. The first ten chapters will be posted starting Friday, May 6, and I will post one chapter a week for ten weeks, after which I will take a summer break. The next ten chapters will then be posted in August/September, and then whatever is left of the story. I'm not entirely sure how long it's going to be, but I'm guessing 30 chapters, or maybe longer.

So that's enough about that for one sitting. If anyone has questions, please feel free to contact me! Any and all enquiries will be answered.

31.05.14:am still planning on finishing Finding Trinity, guys. I'm sorry for the ridiculous wait. Really. So sorry. I owe you all a large drink or something. Or a hug. Or chocolate. Either way, expect new stuff from me soon.

What do you get when you cross a classic fairy tale with K/S? Hopefully not a complete disaster. I think the plot of this particular tale needs no explanation...

Interesting. I enjoy your style of writing. Your language is wonderful, and your narration is very much in the style of the fairytale.

Of course Jim steps forwards. Because he is Captain Sexy Pants Hero Guy, and must, as such, be awesome in any and all situations. ;) Also, he can hear the deep thrumming of Spock's heart calling to him across the distance.

In all seriousness, though, this is still interesting, and, so far, I am enjoying myself.

One, very tiny little thing bothered me - that "those-who-ruled" allegedly "could lavish time and water on caring for long tresses." Given the deficit of water on Vulcan, would not this be highly illogical? Again, tiny, miniscule point, but being a nitpicky sort of person, I just thought I'd mention it.

So, onwards!

Author's Response:

It would be, if they were ruled by logic. However, this is pre-Surak, which means that logic is not the heart of their culture. And the rich always have their privileges, in any society. Glad you're having fun.

Ah, pre-Surak. That explains things. Since you mentioned the "house of Surak" in the first chapter I automatically assumed that this was either present or post-Surak.

Anyway, another great chapter. I'm very fascinated with Spock, and curious about his "deformity". I'm still liking your style. The characterisation is different, and yet appropriate.

Author's Response:

More than one Surak on Vulcan, lol, and this is au (alternate universe) so all rules are off. But feel free to nit-pick all you like; doesn't bother me.

I am enjoying the interaction between Kirk and Spock. Your chapters are short, but interesting.

I love how this ties so well into the "Beauty and the Beast" concept. You don't just have the fairytale as a background, but you use it, well, combining it with the Star Trek characters in a very believable and interesting way.

Being a big fan of tension, I loved the ending, Spock's sudden outburst. It is always delicious to me when he loses his temper.

I also enjoyed meeting Sulu. He seems like he's going to be fun. I enjoyed the comment about wiping Jim's behind. It made me laugh.

Author's Response:

Glad you're enjoying the journey.

Poor Spock. I feel so sorry for him. I liked the scene where Jim washes his scars, though. Very pretty.

I'm going to reserve judgment on Jim's empathic abilities. On one hand, it's sweet, and fits very well, but it is also a little odd. But I do enjoy Spock and Jim's connection.

And Stonn - I believe we have a villain in the making. He's just a nasty piece of work, isn't he? Or maybe he's jealous? Or just a jerk. Either way, I think he's cool. ;)

Author's Response:

Feel free to reserve whatever judgment you wish, but this is alternate universe, which means I can give Jim any abilities that I think advance the story, which this one does.

This last scene between Kirk and Spock was so tender, and very beautiful.

And your McCoy, he's so ... McCoy! "treat your cloak" - haha. :)

By the way, when I comment about stuff, it is not my intention to diminish anything you are doing, nor is it my intention to make it seem as though you should do either this or that. It is just that I am so fond of receiving people's honest comments and/or criticism, that I always try to give that myself, when I review. However, if you simply wish me to tell you everything I like (which is pretty much everything, because you write really well), and leave out the little things I don't, I'll be more than happy to do so. I don't want to offend you. As mentioned, I really, really like your story, and it was not my intention to intimate otherwise!

Author's Response:

No, I didn't take it that way, but some reviewers get confused about which world a story is in and say, "Well, this couldn't happen because...." I like AU because pretty much anything can happen.

The first kiss was very sweet. A lot of people put a lot of ado into that first kiss. I liked that this one was more quiet, simple.

As for the intimate scene, I am not so fond of explicit descriptions, but this is entirely a matter of preference (or just me being weird), and your writing was very tasteful.

Author's Response:

Nothing weird about your preferences; some people like explicit scenes and some don't. I write for all tastes, but since this particular piece is more romantic than sxeual, I'm keeping it a little bit tamed.

There is a lot of feeling in this. I like the images - particularly the third verse - "your touch is cold like the sea". The ending is very potent.

Two small things (since I like nitpicking): In the fourth verse, the use of the word "gay", though interesting because of its obvious double meaning, also gives off a hint of hilarity, which, I think, breaks with the mood of the poem. Also, in the seventh verse, "it's" should be "its", without the apostrophe. Just a teeny grammatical mistake.

But I like this. Especially since I'm fond of tragedy. You really bring across Spock's emotions in a realistic and passionate way.

Author's Response: Thanks for letting me know..I have trouble with my grammar and spelling..I will correct it..and I understand completely what you say about the gay part I may go and change it to something else...thanks again for pointing my mistakes...
