Pretty much following the tradition of aliens-made-them-do-it [only kind of inverted], in which Kirk and Spock end up at a planet where they are not allowed to touch each other [due to religious issues, politeness protocol, whatever].

I have a really hard time picturing James T Kirk as a wallower. He's very much a deal with it and move on kind of personality in my head canon :D

It's one of the many reasons he's one of my favourite characters (one of the many many many many reasons.. most of which are completely shallow ;) )

Whoo awesome story so far and action packed.  I was little sick at the thought of Vulcan body parts being beamed up but it was the only way to save them.  Plus I cringed when spock and kirk got beamed up together and glad that they didn't die horribly.    And oooo Spock in a cold rage plus a cliffie has me curious what he is going to do.
